SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – July 14, 2014 – Motorola Solutions, Inc. (NYSE: MSI) received the Bronze International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) for the TLKR consumer two-way radio series. Motorola’s DS4800 Series bar code scanner and the TC55 touch computer also were selected as finalists in this competition hosted by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA).
The IDEA program fosters business and public understanding about the impact of design excellence. IDEA is considered one of the most preeminent design competitions in the U.S. with a global reach.
- With a range of up to 10 kilometers, the TLKR consumer two-way radio series enables powerful connections for extreme sports, outdoor activities and wherever reliable communication is needed for consumers.
- The DS4800 Series of 2D array imagers offers enterprise-class scanning capabilities in a modern industrial design that enhances the ambiance and branding of the retail point of sale environment. It is the industry’s first scanner to include a capacitive trigger that allows retailers to select the scanning input modality (tap/swipe/press) that will provide optimal productivity and customer experience.
- The TC55 merges the features of a traditional enterprise-class mobile computer with the form factor and functionality of a smartphone running the Jelly Bean version of the AndroidTM-based operating system (OS). It is a complete business solution that features a thin design without compromising the capabilities or durability expected from an enterprise mobile device.
