Broadband push-to-talk service boosts workforce collaboration and productivity
- Mobility, collaboration and productivity to rise through cloud-based push-to-talk application
- Operates as a standalone broadband service or to open access between radio and cellular networks
- Part of Motorola Solutions’ Next Generation Mobile Intelligence technology suite
MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA – Thursday 28 April, 2016
Motorola Solutions has today launched WAVE™ Cloud Connect in Australia, a cloud-based software application that delivers broadband-based push-to-talk (PTT) communications and seamlessly connects traditional radio networks with cellular networks.
Wave Cloud Connect will enhance collaboration and productivity for enterprises and government agencies by enabling Apple or Android smart phones and tablets to connect directly with radio devices, bringing secure mobile workforce communications to groups of up to 3,000 users.
The new service delivers real-time voice and data communications securely over any IP network, connecting teams and individuals both inside and outside of their existing communication systems. The service connects users carrying any communications device, from two-way radios to smart phones, laptops and rugged handheld devices.
Wave Cloud Connect can also be used as a standalone broadband service without radio network integration. Key features include a visual mapping tool to pinpoint the location of users in the field and a secure text messaging service.
The solution is part of Motorola Solutions’ Next Generation Mobile Intelligence suite, a mix of technologies including mobile broadband-based solutions that place the right information into the hands of users across a choice of devices, applications and networks.
Flexible, service-based approach reduces capital costs
The “software as a service” offering is accessed via flexible and affordable user subscriptions, removing costly capital investments needed to deliver broadband PTT capabilities or to enable radio networks to communicate with other devices.
Motorola Solutions Australia Technology Director, Greg Bouwmeester, said the service would provide users with the flexibility to spend only what they need to manage their daily operational requirements for broadband PTT.
“In government and business environments today, employees are communicating with a variety of mission-critical devices as well as consumer-grade devices. Wave Cloud Connect is the ideal solution for any organisation wanting to simply and affordably combine large numbers of users and teams onto a single communications platform,” Bouwmeester said.
“Wave Cloud Connect increases the capability and value that users receive from their radio networks. The application also brings the benefit of improved workforce productivity and mobility for users who do not have access to a radio network.
Users of the service will be kept up to date with cloud-based software upgrades and full service availability through Motorola Solutions’ 24/7 network operations and control centre.
